Dear Families,
Welcome to the Alouettes Dance Company (ADC)! We’re thrilled you’re considering joining the Alouettes Dance Company (ADC) for the upcoming season. This document is designed to provide complete clarity on what it means to be part of our company. We believe that transparency, consistency, and communication are key to a successful season. Please read this contract thoroughly and feel free to reach out with any questions before signing.

1. Full-Year Commitment·       
  • ADC membership is a serious commitment from August 2025 to June 2026.
  • Dancers are expected to attend all weekly classes, rehearsals, performances, competitions, and studio events.
  • Leaving the company before June 2026 forfeits eligibility for next year’s company placement and refunds of any kind.

2. Prioritization, Scheduling Conflicts & Non-Compete Policy·       
  • ADC must take priority over other extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and personal events.
  • Other sports not allowed due to injury and scheduling risk.
  • Dancers are not allowed to be members of other private studio dance companies or competitive programs.
  • School dance teams are permitted if there are no scheduling conflicts.

3. Attendance Policy·       
  • Maximum of 10 total absences per season.
  • Only 2 absences allowed during the month before any performance or competition.
  • Exceeding absences will require paid private lessons to catch up.
  • All absences must be reported in advance for approval.
  • Excused absences: illness, school events (with 2 weeks’ notice), religious holidays, injury (with a doctor’s note).
  • Unexcused excessive absences may result in probation or removal.
  • Tardiness: Arrive 5–10 minutes early. Late arrivals must observe and take notes.
 
4. Required Classes for Company Members·       
Each month, company dancers must be enrolled in the following:
       • 2 Ballet Classes
       • 1 Jazz Class
       • 1 Lyrical Class
       • 1 Hip Hop Class
       • 1 Technique Class (based on Performer Warrior Curriculum)
       • Periodic required workshops and company rehearsals

5. Tuition & Monthly Fees·       
  • Total monthly class tuition: $245 (covers all required classes and evaluations).
  • Tuition is due monthly and must be current to participate.
  • Tuition does NOT include: competition fees, costume fees, rehearsal fees, uniform costs, or private lessons.

6. Required Uniform·       
  • Every dancer must have the full company uniform package.
  • Items: Warm-up Jacket, Leotard, Sports Bra, Shorts, Duffel Bag, and Hoodie.
  • Uniforms must be purchased from Dance Plus – 8433 SW 132nd St, Miami, FL 33156.

7. Rehearsal Fees (Outside of Class Time)·       
  • Group Dance: $20/hour per dancer
  • Duets/Trios: $30/hour per dancer
  • Solo: $50 per 50-minute session

8. Competitions & Required Fees·       
ADC will participate in 2 required regional competitions.
       Each dancer will perform in at least one group routine.
       Base Competition Fees per dancer:
       • $330 – Large Group Entry (2 competitions-Precision and Revolution)
       • $495 – Licensing & Admin Fee (one-time)
       • $165 – Prop Fee/Title (one-time)
       • $150 – Costume (includes 1 costume for large group)
       • TOTAL: $1,140
       $250 deposit is due upon contract signing.

9. Optional Additional Routines (By Director Approval Only)·       
Only available to returning company members (not first-year dancers).
       • Solo: $265 + $180 costume
       • Duet/Trio: $195 + $180 costume per dancer
       Additional rehearsal fees apply for these numbers.

10. Costumes & Makeup·       
  • One costume per routine required.
  • No costume/accessories = no performance.
  • Points deducted for messy hair or missing items.

11. Competition Guidelines·       
  • Must attend full competition weekends (Fri–Sun).
  • Arrive about 2 hours early or by doors open for early performances.
  • Must attend all award ceremonies to receive ribbons/trophies.

12. Payment Plan Options for Competition Fees·       
  • 6 payments – Sept through Feb (deducted on the 15th of each month)
  • 4 payments – Sept, Nov, Jan, Feb (15th of month)
  • 2 payments – Sept 15 and Dec 15
  • 1 payment – Full amount on Oct 15

13. Performance Dates & Events·       
  • Summer Intensives 2026 – REQUIRED
  • Weekly Classes Begin – August 2025
  • Open House – September 6th 11am -2pm
  • Big Little Reveal – September 25th
  • Spirit Week – October 19th-25th
  • Nutcracker – December 16th, 2025
  • Company Photoshoot – January
  • Student Choreography Showcase – January 30th (Tentative)
  • Bring a Friend to class – February 9th-13th
  • Company Sleepover - February 27th to 28th (Tentative)
  • Two Regional Competitions – Dates
    • Precision: March 6th-8th Ft. Lauderdale, Fl (Tentative)
    • Revolution: March 13th-15th Fort Myers, Fl (Tentative)
  • Company Auditions – May 7th
  • End-of-Year Recital Photoshoot – May 20th through 22nd (Tentative)
  • End-of-Year Recital – June 16, 2026
  • Additional performance opportunities may be added throughout the year

14. Behavior, Respect, and Team Culture·       
  • ADC fosters teamwork, discipline, and kindness.
  • Dancers must demonstrate respectful behavior in and outside of class.
  • Parents are expected to support the policies and refrain from negative or disruptive behavior.
  • Non-disparagement clause: No negative public statements about the studio, staff, or families.

15. Photo, Video & Injury Waivers·       
  • Signing this contract allows ADC to use dancer photos and videos for promotional purposes.
  • By participating in ADC activities, parents and dancers accept all inherent risks of injury.
  • ADC is not responsible for medical expenses incurred during participation.

16. Disciplinary Use of Dance·       
  • We understand the importance of parental discipline, but we strongly encourage families not to use dance class as punishment.
  • Missed rehearsals impact the entire team, not just the dancer.
